kagaj is a small side project. One developer, made for fun. It runs on your device and that's it.
There's no account. There's no sign-in. There's no server that knows you exist.
What the app does not do
Your notes never leave the device. No analytics. No advertising. No third-party trackers. No telemetry. Nothing uploaded.
What stays on your device
Everything you make in the app lives in local storage on your device. That includes:
- Notes, pages, sketches, and handwriting you create.
- Folders, pin states, and any organisation you set up.
- Settings and theme preferences.
- Recently opened items and small bits of in-app state.
None of this leaves the device through the app. There's no shared cloud.
System-level features
When you use the system share sheet, the iOS pencil tools, or any other built-in feature your device offers, that part of the experience is provided by the operating system and follows its own rules. kagaj does not see what those tools do in the background.
Removing your data
Deleting a note from inside the app removes it from local storage. Uninstalling the app clears the local copy.
If you back your device up to iCloud or to a computer, copies of the app's data may still exist in those backups. That is outside the app's control, and the app cannot reach into a backup to delete things. You can manage backups in your device settings.
If this ever changes
If a future version ever needs to send something off the device, for example an opt-in crash report or a feature that talks to a server, it will be described on this page before that version ships, and will be opt-in where possible.
Updates to this page
This page may change as the app changes. The “Last updated” date at the top is the most recent revision.
